Konzertreise USA: Los Angeles

Das Deutsche Konsulat Los Angeles schreibt am 14.09. 2010 auf seiner Internetseite:
“The late summer evening was filled with classical music as the arirang quintet played at a house concert hosted by Michael Ott, Consul for Cultural Affairs, on Tuesday, September 7. The concert is part of the quintet’s coast-to-coast tour and US debut.
The arirang quintet was formed in 2002 and is comprised of musicians from the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, one of Germany’s leading orchestras which has fostered the organization of new chamber music ensembles since its founding in 1974. The idea for the quintet came about during an orchestra tour with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie to North and South Korea. For its name, the group chose arirang, which refers to a traditional Korean song.
The young musicians – Monika Schneider on bassoon, Sakura Kindynis on flute, Jörg Schneider on oboe, Steffen Dillner on clarinet, and Sebastian Schindler on horn – charmed guests with works by German cellist, composer and conductor Franz Danzi, German composer and conductor August Klughardt, and French composer Jacques Ibert.
… After the concert, everyone had a chance to mix-and-mingle with the artists as well as enjoy the good company, the mild LA evening and the delectable buffet.”
